Our new company, Biz Videos Online, started the beginning of last year…(January, 08) and has given us much hope and sleepless nights.  Our vision is to produce quality, short form web videos for merchants, companies, entrepreneurs, retailers or restaurants with the goal to provide a dependable, affordable and effective digital marketing solution to businesses who were looking to thrive during the economic downturn. A veteran of the dot.com hey-days, I wanted to show, just how far web technologies have come in less than seven years. My compatriots and myself would be celebrated captains of industry, providing best of breed Open Source CMS technologies and cool, digital media solutions to businesses who, in the previous bubble, couldn't come close to being able to afford such solutions. An army of Open Source gurus had opened up the technology lid and made large, enterprise level web solutions available to the masses! The potential market...was mind boggling. Anyone with a grand vision, a compelling plan or product...a cool widget or a new idea…could certainly benefit from their own, personalized video. Every small business, mid-sized manufacturer or enterprise level corporation could tell their story in 5 minutes or less ! 

We would also target larger companies who are early adopters of this solution and are rushing to place streaming video on their web sites…(We like companies with budgets and vision.)  The timing is right, we developed an affordable entry level package, a quick turn-around (10 days) and a growing network of 65+ producers, stretching from San Francisco to New York, who can service any third, secondary and primary market in the country.  (That’s a lot of green screens).  We pinch ourselves quietly, realizing the enormous potential and that we are actually ahead of the rising video content and Web2.0 wave that many sense, is just starting to swell.  

ANALYTICs SPEAK LOUDLY Placing original video content on your website can yield tremendous returns.  If clients place video, appropriately, on their websites (or let us do it for them) the numbers of calls (called conversions) is noticeable.  (It is higher than anything else by 40%). High resolution video, motion graphics and a background soundtrack help communicate a story better than any affordable medium…period.  A good interview, a set of thoughtful questions from a producer who understands business and a testimonial or two from a satisfied client, is all that is needed to get the phones ringing and to convey your message (and a lot of subtle messaging as well.) Can anyone convey honesty, believability, personality, charm, quirkiness, dedication and knowledge in a newspaper ad? … Can you do an in-depth product tour, plant walk-thru or how-it’s made spotlight…in a 30 sec. TV spot?!  (that costs $10K + to broadcast to everyone in a 40 mile radius?).   You know the answer. Jump on board...it's going to be an wild ride!
